Collectively Firewire & world-renowned shaper Nev Hyman have developed 3 technologies in our quest to re-defi ne the ‘Future of Shape’. Future Shapes Technology (FST), RapidFIRE (RF) and Direct Drive (DD); three distinct technologies all geared towards one goal – sustained, controlled flex.
The top ASP world tour surfers ride boards built so light they have a small amount of flex. However that fl x comes at the price of durability with many saving their best boards for heats. Shaper: Nev Hyman. Board Bio: Perhaps the most versatile board in the Firewire quiver to date, the DOMINATOR combines a full outline with a thick foil from nose to tail and a 5/4/3 fin configuration. We moved the wide point back to reduce the nose profile, maintaining all of the speed but with none of the top turn drawbacks of retro nose outlines. Shaper: Nev Hyman Board Bio: The TAJ Pro Model is built to Taj's exact specs taken from his favourite 5'11" and 6'0" Firewire surfboards, incorporating the identical rail volumes, bottom contours, SPRINGER and increased rocker that are a trademark of his equipment. TAJ Pro Model boards are lightning fast boards with an incredibly tight turning radius, and 6'2" and 6'4" versions are adjusted slightly to give a heavier surfer the same scaled board that Taj rides.
