Buster Surfboards

busterlogo Buster SurfboardsBuster Surfboards was set up in 2000 by Guido Bernhard and Nico Meisner. One of their common goals is to offer the best boards to the continuously increasing number of recreational surfers and those surfers who do not live by the sea. Their shapes have become especially popular in Central Europe and, as a result, the young company showed rapid growth. In a short time they developed a very lively environment, whose infl uence continues to shape the Company. The designs behind the surfboards come from surfers from all over Europe with a variety of backgrounds. Surfers of all skill levels are involved in the development stages.

Surfboard construction is a main focus of Buster Surfboards. The boards that make up the new IX-PS series are made from materials that combine the advantages of all previous designs and are not much more expensive than traditional surfboards. In the IX-PS series is a novel form of expanded polystyrene, which is used as a core material combined with a transparent epoxy resin.

Performance wise, the IX-PS models are almost identical to traditional PU / polyester boards – in particular, the fl ex and responsiveness of the boards which does not suffer from a stiff Epoxy construction. In addition, the boards are lighter, more durable and the core doesn’t absorb any water when damaged. They are just as easy to repair as PU boards, but clearly more environmentally friendly to produce and are also recyclable. IX-PS is a further development from Styrofoam (XPS), but instead of being a light blue colour it’s a bright white. Subsequently outgassing and delimitations are no longer a problem. IX-PS is a closed cell technology, has a completely uniform density and is much more durable and lighter than PU.
